HGYC Mission Statement

We believe that it isn't the size or cost of a boat that makes the owner a true yachtsman.  Rather, it is his or her skill, knowledge and dedication to good seamanship.

Members are supportive of one another. You will always get help and advice from others in the club, whenever you ask for it.

HGYC uses the Community Building at Cabrillo Marina in San Pedro for our monthly dinner meetings. We charge only $10 per person for what is always a delicious and ample meal.

HGYC supports the yachting community by being an active member of the Southern California Yachting Association, Southern California Cruising Assoc. and the Association of San Pedro Bay Yacht Clubs.

Each year, HGYC members make a donation to the Recreational Boaters of California, a group that represents boaters' interests in Sacramento.

Our newsletter, "In the Eye," is a lively and interesting journal that has drawn widespread praise.

When the club cruises to various destinations, the objectives are to relax, have fun, and return safely.

The annual cost for all this is only $150. Shirts, jackets and caps bearing the club insignia are available at a nominal cost.
