Cruising and Racing
Our club brings together recreational boaters who enjoy the sport of boating, along with the social activities and privileges that go hand in hand with belonging to a yacht club. Some of our members have large boats, some small. Some are avid sailors, others devoted power boaters. Most of our members are local and we also have members who are on extended cruises to other parts of the world. What we share in common is being a community of friendly, warm, unpretentious boaters who enjoy sharing the passion of our sport with others. HGYC enjoys a full cruising schedule. Click on the calendar/events button to see the current schedule.
HGYC is a member of SCYA (Southern California Yacht Association) which makes club members eligible to participate in races throughout Southern California and beyond. The Club has a small but active fleet of racers.
HGYC is also a member of Southern California Cruiser Association (SCCA), allowing club members to participate in local predicted log contests.
